Bullet cam only in black and white

Bought a bullet cam a couple of years ago and havent used it for ages. Went to plug it in today and the picture only came up when you tweaked the phono plug.

Took the plug off and soldered a new one on. Im 90% sure I got the wires the right way round but now the picture only shows in black and white. Would reverse polarity cause this or would there be no picture at all.

is it a black and white camera??
if you had the wires the wrong way round you would have no picture at all and lots of horrible lines and mess on the screen. if you only had one wire connected (middle video) you would have a negative looking image.

Check the voltage connections, if you dont have the correct voltage going into the camera it may operate but not giving enough output for full colour.

silly questions but do you have the colour turned on on the monitor you are viewing the images on?

cheers

It used to flicker between colour and black and white when I fiddled with the plug, that was before I put a new plug on it.

Using the same setup to test it now. Using a regulated 12v car adaptor. Will check the voltage at work tomorrow. They only need 12v dont they? What about current? The adaptor will supply up to 1A, cant think it would need that much.

could it be a PAL / NTSC conflict?
