Hello,
I have a ZX12 engine in my car.
ECU has been changed for a KMS ECU.
After this, i have removed from my zx 12 original loom all the wires and sensors that i do not need anymore.
Everything was runing fine.
I have noticed this week that with engine running i have around 18 v coming out of the regulator.( as well at 1500 rpm that at 10000)
I have changed the regulator thinking it was defectuous, but same result.
What could this be ?
If i keep this way, i suppose i will burn all of my electric components ?
What could be the solutions ?
Gerardo
I'd hope not, but I can forsee it damaging the ecu...
When you turn the headlamps on do they look especially bright or have they been burning out quickly?
Also what's the voltage coming from the battery and alternator (if that's not the regulator)?
Is it possible that the regulator is set for 18v?
That's all I can think of
I had a blade regulator fail, it started pushing out 18v and boiled the battery in short order.
Another failed with zero charge, bike regulators are not the best in the world even though its been changed its still the main suspect, I would return
and get another.
