Fan Seized?

Hi All

When i drove my Saxo (hillclimb) I didn't notice the fan kick in although the temperature didn't appear to climb that high according to the gauge. The battery is off at the moment so I can't check electrically but, I tried to turn the fan by hand and it wouldn't budge - could it be seized or would it be hard to turn?

fans are normally dead easy to turn.
can you run the car for a while without driving it? see if it starts to overheat

Yeah that's what I thought - battery is off but when I get it back on I'll try it direct to the fan via a fuse just to see.

I'm not optimistic and got a hillclimb on Sunday and a sprint Monday :-(
