Looking for super discrete rear lights
flak monkey - 2/11/10 at 08:05 PM

For the bike project.

I have an idea in my head as to what I want to achieve at the back end of the bike and really need some really discrete LED strip lights.

Anyone seen anything which would meet the legal requirements (tail, brake and indicator) in a very compact and thin unit (no more than 12-15mm high)

If not I guess I am going to have to make something up to achieve the look I want.

These are the smallest I've seen, but still 10mm too high for your spec.

Not bad, if nothing else is available I may be able to cope with that

Thanks

Ideally smoked lenses would be nice, but I guess I shouldnt push my luck!

send them over. With the amount of cigaretts i have per day, i can have them smoked ready in a couple of days

I have found a neat way of making normal red led strip do 2 brightnesses for brake and tail, which opens up a whole world of possibilities.

Hopefully rear lights dont need E marks

Thats exactly what I am hgoing to do.

Run 2 off 10 LED strips each side for tail/stop and indicator. You'll see how it comes together once I get building...

That way the overall height of the lights is well within what I need as well....

Noticed these ones on the recommendations given in this thread... can anyone hazard a guess as to whether the rear of the units would stand up to being bashed by road crud / stones if sunk into rear arches, or would they need covered?
