Hi, i've just swaped out my pinto for a red top, i took the oil pressure sender of the pinto and have put it on the red top, same sender/ same gauge.

When i crank the engine over on starter the oil light goes out and oil pressure gauge goes of the scale, i've given it a brief fire up and getting oil up to the head. I thought i may have crossed the 2 wires so went out tonight and swaped them over, same thing, oil light goes out and gauge of the scale to the stop.

What else can be wrong with it or me, it's begger to get to the sender, under carbs, behind alternator and behind 3 way water hose

I had similar issue and had mixed the two wires from the sensor up so the warning light one was to the gauge, just a thought?
