Hi All
I've got a fault with my Clio Sport (02). There is no sound from the main front and rear speakers and very quiet sound from the small front
(dash) speakers. It's been like this since I bought the car. I've tried a different head unit and things are the same so I'm assuming
it's the speakers or the wiring to the speakers. There is evidence of extra audio kit having been fitted in the past so I'm wondering
whether the wiring to the speakers has been modified (cut!) at some point. I've had a good look under / behind the dash but can't see
anything.
Any thoughts before I start pulling it apart?
I've posted on the Clio Sport forum - not sure if that'll produce anything other than I need a new head unit and a boot full of speakers!
Thanks
Wyn
It's possible to test the speakers and the wiring using a 9volt battery just touch the wires to the connections and you should get
a noise from the speakers, if not try using short lengths of wire direct to the speakers, if that works it's likely to be the wiring if not
it's the speakers.
Process of elimination
Do you have front and rear speakers first of all?
I always change my speakers but keep the old ones so i can fit them back if i sell the car.
Also, if there are evidence of extra audio in the car, maybe they run their own cables and the main loom is not connected to the speakers

Thanks guys
I tried a 1.5volt battery across the leads to the speakers at the ISO plug into the radio, and got nothing. The wiring looks all intact from what I
can see without taking the whole dash out!
I haven't checked if there are speakers behind the panels though.....
Stereo, speakers?? what are they??
Remove them all and save a few kilos!!

No speakers..... Should have checked first! Now where do I get a pair of speakers from??!
Scrappy or local auto store.
Depends on what do you want and how much money you want to spend.
I would get Alpine components for the front. No need to cut the rear speaker panel as they are shallow mount. There are some with an inline crossover
so you do not need to have wiring done.
As for the rears, i would get some two way ones.
All depends on the quality you want and money to spent.
Thanks guys - I bought a pair from Halfrauds - didn't get a discount with my trade card though! Will bolt them in over the weekend and see how it goes.
Did you get the speaker lead adaptors?
I did as i didn't want to cut the loom in it.
