I have a tps megajolt thats faulty, its been back to trigger wheels and had the majour chips checked but due to that fact it popped 2 days prior to my iva i ended up buying a new one and getting trigger wheels to swap the hard rev limited over, now im doing a new project with a zetec and would like to repair the jolt to run the spark on the zetec so i can fit bike carbs to it. my fault is as follows, unit powers up but will not connect to laptop for more than 2-3 seconds not mine, not saturn sports cars, not trigger wheels. they suspect a minor component, anyone got any ideas? or anyone able to point me to someone who can (cheaply) diagnose and possibly repair this?
Is it the newer version with surface mount components? most likely cause would be the rs 232 interface chip or components associated with it.If I
remember correctly it is soldered onto the PCB so has probably not been changed as I think trigger wheels just buy the units in ready built form the
states.Does it connect at all? and if so does it allow you to see the map that is installed?
