FIA Masterswitch Resistor
lsdweb - 8/12/11 at 11:54 PM

Hi All

I need a new resistor for my master switch and would rather something a bit more robust (like 2.4 OHM 50 WATT 1/2% WIREWOUND ALCLAD RESISTOR | eBay) than the standard one. Does anybody know what spec the resistor is - I remember reading somewhere that it's 3 Ohm 11 watt.

My maths would make that capable of handling 2 amps.

Power = I^2 R
So I^2 = 11/3 = approx 4
so I = 4^0.5 = 2 amps

It's late so I could be totally wrong!

This one is a 30 Ohm!

3R0 is 3.0 Ohms they write it like that as decimal points can go missing when printed on components.

And thanks for spotting my mistake!
