What Sender units for RT Dash2?
Mr C - 27/12/11 at 12:48 PM

I need Turbo Boost, oil pressure and water temp senders for my Subaru engined project. Does anyone know what type to use which would use the available RT software settings and fit the engine? Or an alternative source for the same senders? Total cost from RT is £214 +VAT for three senders and wires which seems a bit steep to me.

Cheers

what ecu are you using?
you can wire them derectly into loads of the decent ecu's and send them to the dash 2 using canbus. think the dash only has about 4 analogue inputs if wiring to dash.

Its a standard UK Subaru ECU no canbus etc, so direct connection is not an option. The car hasn't any senders fitted for boost or oil pressure and has a one wire temp sensor which would involve messing about with resistors and manually calibrating the dash.

im finding my dash 2 way too complicated to workon and set up. its really high tech stuff and you need to be a bit geeky to get it set up properly

Try this guy, its who we bought our dash, data logger and Can cable from and he also supplied some sensors at reasonable prices.

hes probably on about andy chalmers. he sells loads though ebay and is really helpful. but id wait until after new year to call.

Not too hard to calibrate senders as long as you know their operating ranges and select your pull up resistors correctly. speak to race technology they are very helpful

As mentioned, I don't have sender units for the boost or oil pressure and would prefer ones that can be pre programmed with the RT soft ware rather than working out values, operating ranges, plotting graphs and messing about with resistors, Cheers.
