voltage stabiliser

hi guys what i need to know is do i need a voltage stabiliser in the loom for the gauges ie petrol oil water & tacho, i am using a lucas alternator cw regulator cheers davef.

Alright? Yes you do need a regulator otherwise the petrol gauge will read full and it is empty and the temp and oil will hadly move. I think you will be able to get something from lucas. If anyone knows what is required it would be great as I have the above problem.

it will depend completly on the guages you use.

if they are really old you will need a reg.

the vdo ones i bought new run right off 12v.

Triumph Dolomite, so yes they are old anyone know the correct voltage for these?

they run on 9 or 10 volts from memory,all lucas,bl group used the same stabaliser,plenty around,i probly got some if you cant find one

They're 9v - got mine from the local Lucas place - about £8 from memory, or from a dead dolomite - it's fixed to the back of the seperate wooden dash bit in a bracket.
