Looking to neaten up my engine bay over the winter and the wiring loom looks a bit of a mess. Anyone had any nifty ways of tidying or making it look and neater? I dont think plastic sleeving would really work due to the various close connections and joins so anyone got any tips?
The twist twine type sleeving is great for a busy loom.
The thing that actually makes looms look crap is short cut wiring. Lengthening choice wires then using above mentioned twisty sleeving will make it
look a lot nicer.
proper loom tape works well.
note explicitly, non adhesive!
Have been considering lengthening the loom in places just need to get a variety of cables and some more heat shrink but long term i guess will allow me to route my leads in better places

when I did my engine loom I planned the routing around the engine as there were things going into non original locations so I stripped the loom and
shortened / lengthened as required then once happy rewrapped and secured it . With some thought it can look very professional.
Again the wiring for the lights, horn, indicators, fans was also routed down one side and round the front of the chassis so neat and most of it out of
sight.
Plan ahead , I spent ages with a pad and pen doodling where stuff would go with wiring routes made it easier to me, do one thing at a time and it will
look chaotic until its re wrapped but well worth the effort
Good Luck
