I have been running an ETB Digidash Lite 2 on my car for 8 years without problems. Now 2 have occured in quick succession. The first is a wildly fluctuating oil pressure reading in steady state driving. Having done the obvious wiring checks its is still not resolved. I therefore bought a new oil pressure sender ( unique ETB part ). Not yet fitted but I am hopeful. My second problem is random operation of the shift lights. Anything above 3000 rpm even stationary and the whole Xmas tree effect lights up as if I am bouncing off the rev limiter. On the road with bumps the effect is randomised with respect to speed. I have spoken to ETB on this without much help forthcoming but in the conversation I learned that production of the Digidash lite ceased about 6 years ago. So if the worst happens and I cannot find a wiring problem and need a replacement what do I choose. I hear Acewell mentioned but what are the other 'locost' options that members have experience of? TIA
check the 'earth' ie explicitly check the battery neg to the unit.
They are based in Southend. I worked just round the corner and dropped in one day to collect a new oil sender. Grumpy old man didnt really want
visitors.
Either way, I take it he wont repair it?
I know who you mean. Didn't offer much advice.'Never heard of that fault before'
Checked earths as first item. Have now checked unit direct to battery ( thanks for the tip ) with no improvement. I have now discovered that when the shift lights flash up the actual rpm reading momentarily leaps to 10,000 plus for a fraction of a second , so fast it is easy to miss. I have checked feed from coil pack all seems good. I am forced to the conclusion the digi dash is toast. I have now bought an Acewell - wish me luck with fitting!
