No full beam on Stuart Taylor
John G - 30/5/25 at 05:37 PM

I have a factory built Stuart Taylor and I cant get any full beam . I have the ford indicator light surround at the steering wheel. Strange thing is that the blue light is coming on at the dash when I go to full beam. Any pointers?
Regards, Jon

I’m not a electrician but I would be looking at lose wires or wires that have come off
Also check relays are ok and working

Ps are the bulbs ok

Usually the dash light is tied into the feed from the relay for the lights so is a bit strange, as both dip and main share the same earth that's also odd. Have you tested the bulbs or if there is power going to them? I had only one indicator working on old car and assumed the relay had failed, turned out I had 3 blown bulbs! check the easy things first and don't assume.

A short somewhere between the blue light and the bulbs?

i suspect the indicator "blue" high beam lamp is fed off the feed to the high beam relay and the relay isnt activating?

depending on how the car was wired it could have "headlamps on" and "hi/lo" relays and energising the hi/lo will swap the feeds to the bulbs
it could also have been wired with 2 relays 1 for dip and one for main beam

shouldn't be to hard to trace back
