Anyone using an electric fuel pump??????
yep, im using a facet red top one me thinks
Red-top here too but the car isn't on the road yet... I asked FSE which pump and tit is the red-top they suggested.
Chris
My mate has a red top and twin 45's like you. He's been on the road a while and no problems with it.
Yep red top and 45's on the BIL's hotrod and never any fuelling problems at constant high revs
Hi Greg
The guru Dave Walker reckons that you need at the very least 0.5 pint for each expected bhp per hour - but a safe margin is to do calcs on 0.6
Given that a carbed XE should deliver around 175 - 180 bhp, you need a pump that can deliver around 108 pints per hour.
Also bear in mind that most pumps that will deliver this amount of fuel will more than likely overpower the float needles due to excessive pressure,
so a regulator will be needed too.
I use a Facet solid state 'fast road' pump on mine.

I have a facet solid state SS502, http://www.fuelsystem.co.uk/web-facet.pdf fuelling a 3.5 l V8 in a Landie, not have any fuelling problems (other than blocked filter due to sand/grot in the tanks). I'd be very surprise if yours would use more fuel than mine!
Thanks for the replies , I'll put one on my shopping list,!!
And Stu16v, I will get round to calling soon, to get those pics of your motor!!
