anyone shed any light on this for me some of the wires have power some don't? i'm totally lost! grrrrrrrrrrrrr

If its all there including the connectors with the "loops" on them you need to do nothing. It will work as it is.

It only starts to get complicated if you are trying to strip the cyclelock out of the loom (quite possible if you have the wiring diagrams to hand) but its not necessary.

If you are missing the loops you need to connect a couple of wires together. If you have the haynes manual then working from the left side of the wiring diagram, connect as follows

Wire 1 from the ignition switch should connect to wire 5 which goes to the ecu.

Wire 3 from the start circuit cutoff relay should connect to wire 4 which goes to the start switch.

Leave all the other wires with no connection.

I got the 2003 R1 wiring diagrams from Paul Pogers and have cut out all the bike safety and cyclelock circuits. You lose about half the loom and thats makes it far easier to connect all the engine connections and then make up the rest of the loom for all the car functions yourself.

I'm home on Friday and my loom is lying in the bedroom so I can likely give you a call and tell you exactly where each wire goes to.
If it is the cyclelock then it should have at least one side of the connector on the loom. You just need to make the other side to loop some wires.
