Did sierras have a ballast resistor?

Simple question for those in the know...

My mk 2 escort loom has a ballast resistor in it. Were the sierras fitted with a ballast resistor?

If not I need to chop out the ballast resistor from my loom as the solenoid on the sierra will not have the facility to provide 12v starting voltage to the coil.

Cheers,
David

My late 'H' reg Sierra didnt... I'm sure of it - because I was always worried about them after my MK2 Fiesta one kept cracking

My understanding was that it was the later engines that had a balast resistor and I would have thought that the Sierra was after the Mk2 Escort.
I'm sure that there is something on Burton's website/catalogue regarding how you can tell.

Take a 12v from the solenoid cranking feed to the coil if you want a 12v boost for cold starts.
