Wheres the best place to buy shielded cable from??

Maplins???

What sort?

Most audio cables are sheilded (stuff used for phono wires is good). You can get that from Maplins for next to nothing.

You could also try RS at rswww.com. If you sign up online you don't have to be a business to purchase from them.

If your after sheilded cable to send data down , you hasd best get the right stuff. The environment under the bonnet of most cars is extreemly harsh ( electronically speaking ) and any stray RF from the ignition system will completly distroy any data streams.
RS do shielded cable for rs232/485 but it is very expensive and i dont think its got the thermal capability either.

Try to find out what the data rate is , if it is data, and post back because if you only want a couple of meters i might have some gash at work you can have

Its for the CRank sensor for my magajolt. Ill try the audio stuff and see what happens.

You want shielded twisted pair

It's an AUDIO cable used for PA systems - I'm hoping it'll be good enough for my Speedo measurement

I have found some shieled cable at work. So cheap as chips if it works

I used just normal unshielded and it works fine so don't worry too much.
