Hello
I have a type 9 box and machanical speedo but my ecu needs a VSS input or it logs a fault and puts the check engine light on.
Does anyone know of an inline speed sender that will fit in line on a type 9 gearbox speedo cable.
Thanks
Wy do you use a macanical one??
Do you know how the original one works?
Which signal requires the ECU??
Tks
The Ford 2.9i XR4 x4 has a VSS in the speedo cable, which you could include in yours. There is also another Ford, cant remember which one, that has a VSS fixed at the end of the speedo cable near the bulkhead. Hope that helps. atb Chippy

Hi,
Most FWD fords have a VSS that just screws on the end of the speedo cable between cable and gearbox. I'm pretty shore it should be the same
thread as type 9 gearbox.

Thnks for the help guys. The engine is a toyota 4AGE which originaly had the VSS in the speedo.
Look like a hunt down the scrapy should sort me out now I know which cars to look on.
Just looked on Brantz web site and I see they also do one for a ford gearbox does anyone know if this will fit a type 9 it says it han an M18 thred.
Can't help with the Brantz item but the FWD Ford unit that screws on will not fit as the type nine speedo cable is held in with a circlip . Late manual Granadas have a VSS ,not sure if you will have enough clearance between box and chassis though
