Fan switch, temperature sender, where from ?
Jeffers_S13 - 12/5/06 at 10:58 AM

Anyone suggest where I can get a 22mm temperature sender local to me ? I need it before Monday so havent got time for it to be posted.

Its to switch the fan on, Id really like an adjustable one.

Anyone know the size of a standard sender in a normal car and what temp they switch at ?

I second that, A1 motor spares have outlets everywhere and if you get a good one, they will have a row of catalogs, and an oracle who knows every page off the top of his head.

Usually get them next day if its not a common size.

ive just bought an Intermotor one from Halfords. If i realised they were intermotor i would have bought cheaper at the motor factors!

Im not sure about adjustable ones. You might need to fit a special one from eg CBS that requires a t-piece in a hose.

I use a imersion heater contol connected to a relay to turn on the fan in my striker. £10 from B&Q/Wickes. You can adjust the temp they come on at with a dial on the top. They are abit basic and need some tweaking to come on at a specific temp but work. Needs to be mounted onto a metal surface idealy.

Don't they only go up to 65 degrees?
My engine fan cuts in just before 90.
