Cable is heavy stuff when theres a fair bit so 8 quid is probably fair.

I got a few reels from Lucas a couple of years ago for quite a reasonable price. I got it trade but retail wasnt bad. 50m reels IIRC.

I bought the bundle from these people a couple of months ago, it was cheaper then but it is good quality stuff and a really good selection of colours to make a professional looking loom
