got a cd player the other day, and managed to get my old tape player out! disconected it all and so on, then i went and got all the connectors i needed for the new player and for some reason no power is going in? and which is worse my old one won't work either, if anyone knows what i have done wrong or if i need more stuff let me know, im thinking a fuse may have gone or something...

Car audio often has an in-line fuse somewhere close to the unit. You may have blown it, or caused it to come apart (if you haven't seen them, they're usually a couple of plastic tubes that lock together).

Worth a look, anyway.

cheers are they just like normal fuses that are in cars like in the fuse box?

No - they're usually glass tubes with metal end caps.

Common enough in any car spares place.

I don't think I've managed to change a car stereo without blowing a fuse or 2
