I'm in the process of making my wiring loom - one of my last jobs (I keep saying that!).

Can anyone advise me on what the SVA inspector will look for in the security and covering of cables as they are run around the car.

I'm planning on P clipping approx 4" to make it secure and covering all cable runs in that black non-sticky insulation tape stuff. Obviously positioning the cable runs sensibly (away from moving parts, fuel and brake pipes and areas where they are likely to be damaged).

Does this sound SVA proof? They main thing I am worried about is my cable covering (is something more robust needed)...anyone been through SVA recently and can tell me what they did?

I second Conrod. Split tube the way to go, SVA people like it and far more user friendly than tape. Worth getting done properly as the last thing you need in a plastic car is hot cables.

Split tube it is then!

Simple to install and SVA friendly...what more could I ask for.
