i know you can use these for brake lights but are they ok for tail lights ??

My understanding is that, if they are "E" marked, they'll be fine.

Can only suggest you contact a retailer (presumably S-V-C, who are SVA knowledeable) and ask them!

But you probably know that already, so not much help?
