Now I'm not usually one to complain, but I have to warn you all off buying Halfords Heatshrink selection (in a clear plasic box.)

It is the worst stuff I've ever used. It barely shrinks at all and often not at both ends. I've given up on it.

Do not buy it!!

but I have and was using it last night! loads of it, plus I've been using it on my models aswell for the past 2 years...

I used the blow torch to heat it or the gas cooker or the heat gun (best way, pity I drove over it ) with no problems so far, nice and thick stuff.

B & Q warehouse do a much larger quantity for less money on the electrical section. I've been using the B & Q stuff for some time.

I tend to use the heat from the end of the soldering iron to shrink it - probably bad practice but I haven't had any failures.

I had the same problem with the Halfords stuff. It does shrink but you have to get it v hot.

Yup- ditto on the soldering iron tip. Just don't do it after a heavy night or after drinking expressos- you'll end up touching it and burning a hole in the side....
