Is it ok to use the battery cutout switch on the Negative side of the battery or are there any pitfalls? tks to all for past help. david
can't see any reason why it should be a problem. just break the earth and voila, no power!

the use of a battery switch was discussed about a year ago.
There is a tiny issue of operating the switch with the engine running.
If you do, the alternator will continue to power the car and the engine wont stop. Alternators dont like battery removal and can shag themselves as a
result.
Race switches have an extra terminal to break the ignition feed to the coil also.
If its just for anti theft, you probably arnt going to operate the switch running. If its an engine kill you are after, it wont stop the motor.
