hi ive got all my separate wiring diagrams on paper so far but want to draw them on the computer is there a good bit of software you can get
(prefferable free) to enable you to draw good diagrams on pc.
i have tried autocad 2002 but cant remember how you work it now
thanks guys
Hi
I've used Designworks Lite. Fairly straight forward but you'll have to create specialised symbols like switches and relays. It's free
to try.
Alternatively what about Visio? You can draw just about anything. But again a lot of the switches and relays aren't exactly UK auto types so you
draw your own.
Good luck
Barry
Visio is good for me also, if you use the link line thing and attatch the ends you can drag boxes about and the lines hop over rather than
connecting.
This means that you can connect everything up logically then just drag the switches about to make a neat end product.
I think that there may be a source of symbols available from one of the Visio support forums. That should make it fairly easy to do.
edit - someting like this

great thanks guys will have a look tonight when i get home
kastrato thank you very much for the offer i may take you up on it if i dont get on very well but would like to try and learn anyway so im going to
give it go first then will neaten up all the drawings and send to you thanks
has anyone got a link to visio or is it just a case of google
you've got them on paper so what do you gain by having them on a computer?
by having a copy of it on file if i loose the originals which im likely to do
just found full version of visio 2007 on an office disk i got (real honnest)
thanks guys
No worries m8 if you need anything drop me a U2U.
Just a contrary note - I'm an electronics designer by trade, & I never considered 'drawing' a wiring diagram. What I do have is a
wiring list - every wire has number identifiers on each end & the list has every wire number, source, destination & cross section.
To be honest I've not even put the list on the 'puter - it's in the build logbook.

I agree with Bob on this one but only when you're dead sure things will work,
trouble shooting with a pin-list is a nightmare.
as for making drawings, I use paint, I have made a template that has various sings for switches lights relays and motors that I insert in my to make
drawing, after that it's a simple case of select & copy-paste that mutliplies the signs I need at a certain moment.
when 'm finished I just erase the sign template and i'm done.

paint is on my work computer, cad is not

bob thats what my dad told me i just thought it may be a pain in the long run if things go wrong. the visio i have for some reason doesnt work
so i
will try paint
never thought of that thanks, also going to get my dad to try and teach me cad as id like to be able to use it anyway if i can get
my head around it
cheers guys
