My temp gauge has just stopped working?,Its not reading anything at all,how can I test that the sender to see if it is at fault?Its the single contact type on the XE.

if you have a multimeter, the resistance should change as the temperature changes.

if you don't, run a new wire back to the gauge to check for broken contacts.

Putting the lead down to earth briefly at the sender end should make your gauge rise.
If the gauge goes up, then your sender is kaput!
If all the connections to your gauge are ok, you have a positive and you connect the sender lead to earth and the gauge does not rise, it is the gauge that is faulty

Just checked,earthing the lead is working the gauge,so looks like I need a new sender.
