Can I fit 8mm plug lead into standard coils/boots which are designed for 7mm standard Plug Lead?

Should I remove outer sheath to fit into boot? Is it safe?

How can you tell if the Plug Lead is suppressed if it's not written on the Lead. I've bought Taylor Lead Pro - didn't buy it as suppressed but will it be? Have a dropped a proverbial boolok?
