what about replacement key fob?

I was looking for similar for a nissan xtrial - the ebay have them and the can be reprogrammed..... question really is who can prgram, how much and what info do they need to do this? this last parts weren't resovled.

other than that, see if you can work it out from the haynes or call an auto electrician - they may/or may not be able to fix it - but will charge for the call out.

Or have you called the AA? maybe they can re-immobilise you, again unlikley but it is free.

the fobs rarely go wrong - it is not new battery time ? or cna the fob be taken apart to see what is wring? maybe just a track break that can be fixed.?

Had this problem with a VW van - try some of the local independents - all you need is a machine to reprogram the fob, which isn't apparently main dealer only kit - its just the main dealers don't tell you anyone can do it - and then charge you silly money!

When the battery is flat or changed you only have 30 secs to refitt a new one, After that you need to synchronize the key to the car again. It's in the handbook how to do it. You'll know if it is an immobilizer problem as the engine management light will be flashing off and on while the key is in the ign with the ign on .

I had a similar problem with my Rover. Called the AA and the patrolman produced his laptop with all the backdoor codes for immobilsers.

I wasn't even allowed to look at the laptop screen whilst he was reading.

After a daft ceremony of opening and shutting doors/bonnets and boot and turning round 3 times and touching the floor the immobilser was removed from the system and opened and started only using the key.

Cost for this service £0

Give them a try, nothing to loose except a few hours.
