Jaw expert needed!

Hi, I recieved my jaw this morning from the group buy and have spent the night trying to get the thing to work, and will have another go tomorrow as
I'm going to give up for tonight.
It just doesn't want to heat up the sensor, I've checked continuity of the wires from the each of the 6 numbers on the housing to the
numbers on the board screw connector and it all fine.
LM317 gets very hot as it should but the sensor doesn't hot at all. But when datalogging the heat value never changes.
Any ideas? It looks like Chris has tested the sensor as their is a bit of copper slip around the threads so that should be ok.
I am running it off a jump start power pack that has a fag lighter socket on the side.
Everything else seems to work like the query device and loads firmware ok but just won't heat up the sensor.
Any ideas chaps before I post this on Alans site.

Is that in free air ?
The temp on mine goes to 18.
It does get very warm to the touch. The heat sink gets to hot to touch.
Did you find a good case for yours ?

yep in free air, had a look on Alan website and most of the threads reckon to try another sensor 
Yes I did find a case, here it is
Glad yours seems to be ok, maybe need to find someone close that would test this sensor for me.

I,d suggest you check for dry joints on the board, also get a multimeter and look at the sensor, I think the heater value is 10ohm.

Not sure about doing that! As a copier tech for nearly 20 years and done loads of board work I wanted Chris to supply me mine in kit form but he
didn't want to do that because of problems with warranty etc, so I don't want to mess with his work which could invalidate any warranty we
have, even though I have noticed a couple of joints that wouldn't have been good enough for me, but I am a perfectionist, not sure if we have any
warranty any way so I will need to clarify this with Chris me thinks.

I will say the software through its dummy out when I didnt shut it down properly.

If its the center two pins then this is 3.5ohm
The voltages at both the sensor connector and board screw block are: (obviously with no sensor on)
3 Grey 0.1v
4 Wht 0v
5 Yel 2.5v
1 blk 2.5v
2 grn 5.0v
6 red 5.0v
Could these be checked with anyone please.

Could kind soul please see if the LM324 is meant to be bridged, doesn't say anything on the instructions and am just wondering if this could have
damaged the component.
Does look like it is meant to be bridged, so I'll have to look at something else..

You are now right as I loaded 1.11 last night! still doesn't work but at least its at the latest version!
Hope to get a reply from 14.7 soon.

Alan got back to me and she now working perfectly, (I think!) the heatsink was touching my metal case which was grounded causing a short, insulated
the inside area of my case where the heat sink has solved the problem.
May help someone else if they have a metal case!
