Car loom to bike clocks?? - Numpty wiring question
eznfrank - 18/10/08 at 05:10 PM

Firstly I should say I have never done any wiring before!!!

Ok, so I've been quoted a reasonable price to have the 'lectrics done but I really want to do as much of it as I can on my own, although I appreciate someone else will likely have to give it a once over after.

I've got a Tiger loom, the bike loom (ZX12), and the ZX clocks. Both looms are laid in position on the car.

So, the first (in probably a long line) question is...... on the tiger loom there are a number of feeds for the various dash lights (indicator, handbrake etc) can I just clip the corresponding tail that goes into the clock and connect the two or is there another wire somewhere in the bundle making a circuit????

I appreciate this is probably a really dumb question!!

Drop Chris Mason a u2u - he did the wiring on my car a few weeks ago and did a superb job.

Yeah, Chris has actually given me a price to do the full lot already, which just for the record I thought was very reasonable and would be good value.

The thing is it was something that although I find a bit daunting I really wanted to do myself, mainly so I can say that I did it I suppose, but also so that if anything ever goes wrong I should know it inside out by then.

Also want to build my knowledge in this area as already got my eye on a second build (blitzworld buggy to make use of an old cinquecento I've got )
