Switched live - lights problem
Richard Quinn - 25/10/08 at 09:05 PM

Just been checking my wiring and have come across a bit of an issue...
With my headlamp switch off, the ign switch etc all behaves as you would expect. When the headlight switch is flicked to the side or headlight position, the switched live side of the ign switch become live irrespective of the position of the ign switch. There are 3 wires to/from the headlamp switch. Brown (perm live), red (sidelamps) and blue (to change over relay) so I can't see where it can be backfeeding. Anyone got any ideas pls?
Thanks

can you draw a diagram so we can see how you've done it.

What loom/engine/switches are ypu using?

I'd love to be able to provide a diagram but it's a STM/Aries loom that just comes with a layout picture rather than a wiring diagram. I'm using Delta switches and the only place that I have tapped into the permanent live is for the Vapor dash. Everything else is taken off the (what should be) ign live side.
Flicking the headlight switch makes the red (sidelights) and blue (changeover relay) live but I cannot see where power is getting from here to everything else on the switched live side. I have even stripped all of the harness tape off the loom from the scuttle backwards and I can't work out what's going on.
