Anyway I've been asked to get a mobile phone for work yet their not paying for it, I think that's a bit unfair but this italian crowd all use them continuously them and me not using one looks a bit odd.

What's that i-phone like? I haven't used one but it looks quite good on the adverts. Is it expensive to use the web like that? I have rather embarrassing white O2 brick at the moment but it's too sad to use at work even though there's nothing wrong with it really. A friend call up last night on his mobile from Australia!! Couldn’t believe how clear it was, amazing

It does have a CRAP camera though, and no video capability - not really much good as it's meant to be a 'media' phone.

I went for the Nokia N95 8GB instead, and much cheaper.

ok I've read the reviews and made my mind up, quickly as it's quite obvious. It's the Nokia N95 for me, the i-phone looks very nice indeed but I want the good camera and the GPS so no contest, really.

I want one, but only for bling factor. Did have a play with one in carphone whorehouse at Christmas when they were promoting it and it is very good.

Reminded me of when Windows XP came out and somebody came up with the slogan (supposedly from Microsoft) of 'Remember all those things we said Windows could do in 95? Well, it can actually do them now'. Features are pretty much the same as things like the Sony Ericson Px00 series, but iPhone seems to do them in a way that is actually usable.

That said, much as I want one, I'm not going to get one. Nearly £300 to buy, and the tarrifs they make you go on are a ripoff. Much as I like my shineys, it's not worth the spend. Oh, and I'd have to switch to O2, which I'd rather not do!

well the thing that appealed most about the i-phone was the touch screen, apparent web accessibility and none of that awful tiny key format that's an unfortunate legacy like the qwerty keyboard (at least no one ever miss spells that )

Unfortunately the comment I found that refers to it as an upgraded i-pod rings true, there are many similarities in the design, why another built in battery? Plus a 2Mp camera is rather lame these days. GPS on a phone, I had to do a double take!

Had an N95 (and still do have one) - The N95 is a brilliant phone- battery is crap when using most of the features - but its a really good phone. I bought the iphone as I wanted an IPOD and a new phone - plus the user interface is well good. Yes the camera is a bit pants and it has a built in battery..... but the build quality and web access, free data connectivity on O2.... it is very good - I'm impressed anyway!
