Sierra indicator switch to Escort loom
RoadkillUK - 6/10/03 at 06:05 PM

I'm sure this has been asked somewhere before but I can't seem to find it with the 'dodgy' search facilities available.

Anyway here goes ...

I have a Sierra steering column and an Escort loom. I've noticed that the connectors on the loom and on the Sierra steering column switches plug in, all except the indicator plug.

Firstly, although they connect OK with no problems, are they wired up the same?

Secondly, does anyone have a wiring diagram for the pinouts on the Sierra column and possible the correct wires from the Escort loom that will connect to these pinouts? The plug looks the same and will plug in (if I drill out all the holes in the plug).

Cheers

You will find the Escort plug has 'blanks' that don't match the Sierra pins.

They do, it's just that they are a small, thin plastic skin membrane which needs drilling out with a finger bit or push through with a pencil.

Plug it in, all should work OK. Possibly the top hazard switch will not work properly but I used the Escort dash switch anyway.
Some guys were lucky and the top switch still worked properly.

Cheers Rob, just what I wanted to hear as I have already purchased and placed in my dash a Hazard Switch. Cheers Rob.
