2003 R1 flasher relay

2003 R1 flasher relay, how can i check it works, cant seem to get the indicators working, but if i put live wire to them they light up

How is it wired up? Live in, Live out going to input of indicator switch?

Believe the 2003 r1 flasher unit is only rated for 10watt bulbs so if you have 21watt standard bulbs all round it doesn't work. Try taking either a front or rear bulb out and see what happens. On mine i ended up using an earlier flasher unit from a 1999 i think which looks identical but is rated for 21 watt bulbs.

I think one possible solution is to use the 5JJ flasher relay - I think I still have a spare if you want it.

sorted it now fellas, im now using the 10w relay. and just got a small resistor from MAC 1, FOC, thanks Mark, as the savage light comes on, apparently power coming baack up the wires.
Job for next week.
