2001 5JJ R1 clocks info please

Hello

I have another question for you good chaps on here

I noticed tonight that when i turn the ignition on i have a symbol on my clocks for oil and next to it the indicator light.

They both flash together very faint in red

They seam to blip on and off 3 times then pause and repeat.
It does it if the engine is running or not.

Any ideas? is it a fault code or a short or something, doesnt effect the operation of the clocks.

Thanks

Its probably a low oil level warning and low coolant temperature warning.

How far into the build are you? Have you had a look in the user manual?? Should be the same code as per the 98-99 R1 for which the manual is available online (Page 348)

The oil light is the level not pressure, and is on solid if the level is low.

Thanks guy's

Paul tigerb6 do you have a link to that manual?

The car is built and been SVA ed i bought it with a few issues which i have just about got sorted out now, infact this seams to be my last problem.

What should the normal running temp of an R1 engine be?

I wonder if the fault lights flash because it is not using the inbuilt water temp indicator, that always reads LOW however i have an racetech temp gauge.

Could uit be that it thinks it is running a low water temp all the time and there for giving the fault.

Thanks
