Headlights questions

1. How can hotrod/motorcycle style fog/driving lights be converted to headlights?

2. What are sidelights? We need daylight headlights on in Canada (at least for testing purposes).

3. Prices vary wildly. Are the 25 pound plastic bowled ones from Premier Wiring so bad? Versus the 110 pound chrome ones from SVC. Do they have dimmer driving lights? 5 3/4" bowls are preferred. 7" will do. Don't really want the Dominator puny ones (although I know they sell for a good price). Any suggestions?

I know about your required RHD dipping thing. We don't need anything to dip either way. Straight down is OK in Canada. Thank you again, everyone.

For headlights, go to nearest GROTE dealer, black metal 7" tractor lights, chrome rim, High and low beam look like Lotus originals about $100.00 CDN a pair
Sidelights, think parking lights, double filiment bulb in your turn indicators.
For daytime, I just wired the low beams to come on with the ignition, taillights too, just like a motorcycle.

Sorry, what is GROTE? I've never heard of them. I've been in Ottawa for 10 years now, in QC.

Grote is a major supplier to the trucking industry, lights for tractor trailers, some auto parts stores have a large board of lights over the order desk, these are GROTE. Look up Truck lighting and equipment in the phone book, there Ontario head office is in Scarborough, east end Toronto.

Thanks for that, but there is no pricing on their site, and without your product number, a search came up blank.

Sidelights are sometimes known as position lights.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
