Ignition leads (taylor) making up
Hi there,
I have some spark problems so went for new coils (Dynatek) and Ignition leads (Taylor).
The kit of parts with the Taylor leads includes the terminator that pushes into the coils. But I am struggling to connect the conductor of the lead
to the terminator.
The lead is a spiral wound around a fibreglass former. I have scratched the black covering off the spiral wire, but can't tin it with normal
solder. This must be easy, but I have no instructions and can't find any on the Taylor site.
What am I missing?

As far as I'm aware - you dont need to scratch the black coating off the spiral wire - or tin them .
Just crimp the connectors on - job done 
Its cuz I is blond , innit

That sounds like a good solution.
It isn't obvious how to crimp. But I will put that into my search and see what I get.
If anyone has a photo of a crimped terminal then I can have my Eureka moment.

right, I have now done my homework.
In my defence, Taylor leads are made by TaylorVertex, and they have a very complex and confusing website.
This is how it is done. The bit that holds the insulation ALSO holds the conductor.
A bit of a rubbish design I think, but I guess 30,000 volts doesn't care if there is a bit of resistance!
