Or you can buy ready made cables in various lengths and with various types of end fittings off the shelf at Halfrauds
From about £3 upwards I beleive.

If you're doing your own ends, buy cable at your local welding supply shop. Only £1.5-£2/metre.

Premier Wiring will sell you some nice chunky cable plus all the ends and covers you require for very
little money. They'll also sell you earthing straps and so on for just a little extra, and make up any length lead you require, if it
isn't a stock length. (guess where I got mine from... )
The Halfrauds ones looked very thin for my liking.

i used a pair of donor starter leads for the starter, two fuse boxes with the thickest wire from the donors to each and donor earth straps and engine
earths, i just bought the necessary terminals (big spades and big and small rings). cost a few quid at maplins.

its a locost
go to a breakers
you can get a whole handful of earth cables, complete, and power cables to go with it.
you need a seriously good cable - making up summat at home thats not really low resistance will either give low volts or fry summat by using things
like throttle cables as earth returns.

exactly what I thought Mr Gusterson, also think would be better to make the cables to the exact lengths I need, so ready made cables are out. I find
Europa a little on the expensive side so I think I will give Premier a call and get some made up.
thanks

Hi All
I used welding cable.
Although it does have a down side, I can only do 300mm of weld now before I have to stop and move the welder.

It's sometimes easier to use a few sections of thinner wire to make up a lead than to try to get a thick one to bend where it doesn't want
to. This is what the manufacturers do from the alternator back to the battery in a lot of cases.
