Flasher relay wiring

On my flasher relay I have one pin going to the earth and one going to the indicator stalks and one for the live.

Where does the live come from? How does it switch on when the indicators are turned on? When I put my hazard switch on the relay just clicks but doesnt flash.

Just trying a bit of fault diagnosis on my indicators.

Standard sierra set up.

So you have a switched live for the indicators and a perm live for the hazards.
