I've installed a DL1/DASH2 with the ECU cable to an Omex plus using their video sync system so I might be able to help....

its more to do with my ecu really. when i was running my cosworth ALL the sensors went to the autronic ecu and you could select what did what ie oil
pressure and was displayed on the dash. now with the emerald as far as i can see theres only 1 auxiliary temp input and no aux pressure input and you
cant change its name? unless im overlooking something which means il have to wire them streight to the dash ?? hope this makes sense!! . . .

Sounds like the emerald does not have can bus. If this is the case then you'll need to use the 4 analogue inputs on the dash 2 and setup the
equations to make the dash read from the sensors ( range). Also I may be wrong but I doubt you'll be able to " piggy back" from one
set of sensors so you will need to run more sensors and cabling.
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

I used an Emerald ECU connected to a Race Technology DL1 and Dash 1 all via Can bus. I was the first person to do this :-)
All plugged into an R1 (first to do that too apparently!)

yeah, its not that im worrying about its about being able to add extra sensors to the ecu like fuel pressure for instance, nameing it fuel pressure
and that exact thing displaying on the dash 2

so it does connect?? but you cannot rename the input/output to read on the dash2 ??

yep all connected up and displaying data but have extra sensors but cant see how to select them and rename them in the ecu

From memory you need to connect the dash2 to the pc then use the drop down the menu of outputs from the ecu canbus ( everything connected should be
available and select which ones you want to show on which screens on the dash's 5 screens.
I don't THINK you can rename them to exactly what you want though. I may be wrong.
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

just had another look through it no you cant :-( wish id looked a bit more into this side of it before i bought it! no auxiliary pressure inputs
either oh well will just put oil temp into the aux temp input and oil pressure streight into the dash thanks for your help!

Why dont you have a word with Dave Walker, nobody knows more about the ECU than he does, and if it can be done he will tell you how. Very nice guy,
and most helpful. HTH Ray

Also try contacting race technologies I had a problem and spoke with Dr Andrew durrant ( director ) he was really down to earth and most helpful
considering I was just a joe blogs guy. He was most concerned that we could not get can comms and to be honest 1 phone call sorted out what had been a
small oversight on our part.
Looking at this
http://www.race-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Configuration/CANInterfaceConfiguration
It may not be totally impossible to make the dash2 read whatever you want. BUT you may be limited as you say by your ecu inputs
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

Ditto - give them a shout...if not already there, the feature you are looking for may appear in a future firmware release..

OK....
So you have extra sensors (fuel pressure etc) which you want to connect up to the Emerald so the Dash2 sees it? The question would be why? As these
extra sensors are not used by the ECU surely it would be more sensible to connect them (via the correct lead) to the Dash2 direct?
Race Technology do a whole list of sensors with the appropriate leads for a DL1 or Dash2.

thats true but just preferred the idea of haveing just the can cable linking them and keeping all the sensors going streight into the ecu all nice and
neat! doesnt matter either way really i guess!

Emerald have their Can specification on their web site. And a phone call to Karl will tell you everything.

It isn't going to output to the canbus anything that isn't on this list
http://www.race-technology.com/wiki/index.php/ECUType/EMERALDK3-CAN
And even if it did the Dash2 wouldn't know what to do with it. I don't know which additional sensors you are looking to add but I would
think you will need to attach them to the Dash2.
