Indicator problem, a minor one, I hope?

Ok , here we go with another indicator issue !

I had a problem with a ready built car I bought a few weeks ago, hazards Ok , no Ind n/s/f o/s/r etc etc ,thought I'd sorted it, down to a very dodgy area of the fusebox and the flasher relay, removed the fuse from the box and used the supply for a "fly lead" fuse, got a new fusebox, hazards OK , flashing too fast, checked the bulbs wattage rating, too low in the aftermarket M/cycle indicators , so I upped them to 23 W, all should be OK, correct? You'd think so but no ! O/s indicators are still going too quick, checked the festoon bulb at the back was 21 w and it is. They all work fine apart from the issue with the rate on the o/s ;-(

The only other thing I have done is change the dash, gone from an original Sierra cluster to a home made dash with seperate warning lights, did this by taking one side to + and the other to Earth, they both work fine with hazards and on left indicator on right indicator they flash at the same rate as the indicators.

The way I see it is in the original cluster they used the opposite indicator as the Earth for the warning light so all I did was provide a direct earth, there's no problem with any other of the indicator warning/hazard lights so can't really see that being an issue ?

Any suggetions ?

Thanks for reading.

Are the indicators on the offside dimmer than the nearside when flashing? Is the rear lamp grounded properly on that side, and not returning through another bulb?

Hi, only just got chance to check, seem to be the same brightness and checked for Earth continuity, seems fine.

Totally stumped
