Are you sure it is a stright throught lead, as i brouht one, and on the pack it said stright through and it wasnt.

Also the port might not be comm1 try all of them which are avalible

One more thing, if your using a power pack for power, try a battery, as this messed my megasquirt up

Try uninstalling the port in windows are re-installing.

Also double check you have the right version of software to talk to the MegaJolt.

Dam thing. Iv tried all that java stuff etc and it still doesnt work. It says "unable to open port com1 Unknown serial port"

Itl connect to the unit using that hyperterminal thing so the port works.

When you say it connects with hyperterminal what do you mean and how do you know it can see the unit?

Most likely a java problem , did you install it from the self installing package on the CD? I find this usually works straight away but did recently have a problem and found that it was loading the wrong version of Java, as i had two versions installed somehow, check the properties by right click on megajolt tune , it should be something like this "C:\Program Files\MJLJ Tune\mjljTune-2.0.3.jar"
