r1 wiring hazards up for SVA done but only works when ignition is on

hi as above hazards work perfect

but for the SVA arent they supposed to work with out the key in the ignition like my park lights do

if so when I feed a 12v+ to the indicator loom it makes the hazards work perfect BUTit also make the igntion come on and everything so you can start the car without the key

anyone got any suggestions??

ta chris

Hi there

Here is the quick fix...........

Use the 12v feed as you have done from the battery (with suitable in line fuse) and disconnect the original feed from the ignition part of the loom.

This should mean that the hazards, and indicators will work with the keys out, but that is all.

Hope this works, but I've not had a chance to look at the wirng diagram.

Cheers

Ian

Sorry just as I hit the post I though I should ask you, when you put the extra pwer feed in, did the indicators still flash, if so this should hopefully work, but not gauranteed, good luck

Are you using the R1 switches and flasher relay or a Sierra one?

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Sounds to me like you aren't navigating power through the switch correctly. Have a look at our diagram on the website in 'help'
