video cam suggestions
Im looking at getting some incar footage like many here do, i have a sony digi 8 cam corder with video inputs. im looking for a good plug in cam and
mic OR are these digital cam corders (pvd?) any good? the ones that record onto sd memory cars, these seem much smaller than my cam so i could mount
the whole unit without it being unstable.
is maplins a good place to get these bits from? i have one locally and would rather goto a shop than order via the internet.
Any comments on this subject would be nice.
Cheers Andy.

If it has AV-IN then you could use one of these: http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/dogcampro480.htm
me and ox have one and can say they do the job very well. I have some low-res vids on my site under MK Indy.

CHEERS MUCKA. just ordered this kit
http://www.sports-camera.com/helmet_cameras.htm#Bullet_Camera_Package_includes:
kit 3, included a mic too. should b with me this week so will report back how well this one is compaired to yours (looks the same tho).
i do like those suction mounts off that site tho, great idea. (£20 is a rippoff they look like cable clamps just bolted to a suction cup).

Just out of interest, what if any options are available for non DV in cameras? Im assuming none but is there a way to add one?
My camera is great but lacks DV in and likewise for mic so I suspect any footage will be awful with windrush.
Sorry for hijack but either of those options were my preferred until I realised I didnt have DV in

mine does have dv in but like said b4 its av in u need, got it today and tie wrapped it to my rollbar (the one that came with it is a stick on affair
and i dont want that). took it for a test and its great, pos of the mic is more fiddly as it is too sensative so ive left it on the prop tunnel.
i wish i got it last night as i took some stress out from work in the car a dinner and i think i smoked £50 worth of tires in 20 minutes. that would
have been good to see.
mine way £150 all in, but i needed to raid my nitro model car for some rechargable batteries.
