Ignition switch wiring

Hi all...

as in the running gear section I'm going to ditch the barrel lock and steering lock from the sierra column, and so now need to work out how to wire up the switches!

Want to put a push and latch switch as ignition and a push to contact switch as starter both under the dashboard next to the steering wheel...

Which, if either, of the below wiring diagrams would be best - and what Amp relays should I be using?

Also, now I'm going to have to wire in an immobiser - any hints or tips??

Thanks Guys

Chris

What loom are you using as the 'Premier' sierra loom goes straight to the ignition barrel and back out again into the loom.
Top diagram is ok, just use big enough cable to the first cable joint to flow enough amps to both circuits

Using a Dax loom ,which I think is actually a premier wiring one anyway!

as far as i can see, theres no significant difference between the two. However, number 2 has fewer connections to go wrong i suppose.

It is fewer connections - but I can only get one of those relays as a 20A unit - which I don't think would be quite enough so I think I'll go with no.1 unless anyone starts yelling that its dangerous!

Why not switch two relays to share the load to the switched live feed and split the fuses between the two

3.9Ltr SSC Stylus should be fun
