reversing light on Vicky green loom

Hi

Reading the vicky Green loom wiring diagram it states you don't need a reversing light for SVA

Do you need one for an MOT?

Secondly if you want to fit one can anyone tell me which wires and sub loom do I need to connect the switch in the gearbox to.

Thanks for your time and hopefully someone can help, please keep your answers as much in laymans terms as possible as wiring aint my strong point

True.

No, but if you have one it must work.

I'll let someone with a VG loom answer the next bit

Hi If you want to fit a reversing light you will have to run a new wire from an ignition feed to the switch then from the switch to the lamp the the other side of the lamp can be earthed to the nearest earthing point you should put in an fuse either inline or you have to get a bigger fuse box as there are only 4 fuses in the loom . hope this helps.

An easier way is to take a + feed to the rev lamp from anywhere convenient in the rear section of the car (fuel pump?) You can use in line fuse if necessary. Then take other side of rev lamp to the g. box switch and ground the other side.
Less wiring involved.

Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want!!!
