zx9r loom to sierra ignition switch
Hi,
Could someone help me how to connect the loom from a '98 zx9r to a 89' ford sierra ignition switch.
On the zx9r loom I connected the brown, white and grey, with a 100 ohm resistor between the white and grey cable. Should I connect the White from the
zx9r loom to the red from the sierra ign. and the brown to the yellow/black from the sierra ign.??
What cabled from the start button on the bike should I connect to the sierra ignition.
The starterbutton uses the red and black/red to run the starter.
The sierra ign has 4 cables attached to it.
A red cable, yellow/black, brown and yellow.
Does anyone has pics how it is done or an elecktric scheme.
Also I want to use the zx9r loom to connect the lights, indicators etc...
Is this a good idea, or should a fabricate a seperate loom...???

OK, I can't remember the colours off the top of my head, but this is really easy to figure out using a multimeter.
Use the "continuity test" range (might buzz when you touch the probes together) - hold the switch in the start position and then test for
continuity between any of the wires - the thicker one will be the feed from the battery and the thinner one will go to the starter signal on the
engine. Repeat for the other positions on the switch.
