Cause of Gay Horn.......WS
Not as the title may suggest
When i put my horn across a battery it works as it should,
When its wired in it sounds really gay and muffled.
I have checked my earth at the horn wiring and its good and when i press the button its got full 12.6 volts,
What could be the cause of my gay horn!

I reckon it'll be resistance between the battery and the horn ? switch contacts.
The horn might be seeing 12.4v with no load but if there's resistance the current will drop the voltage (or is that 12.4v when horn going?)....

If you are using a Ford boss with those carbon contacts, they do not like heavy current and will stop the horn sounding 'manly' - as
already suggested, fit a relay and a heavier wire to the horn.
Cheers,

Some horns have a tone adjustment screw.
