Speedo sensor help
Hi,
i have a westfield speedo fitted in my tiger -
http://www.westfield-sportscars.co.uk/shop/product.asp?numRecordPosition=4&P_ID=270&strPageHistory=cat&strKeywords=&SearchFor=&PT_
ID=78
Pt no 4910010
There is no sensor or magnets fitted and i am still waiting on a response back from Westfield. Does anybody have these dials fitted and if so do you
know what sensor and magnets will work and where to get them from???
Cheers

REVFSS and REVT9-A a bit costly but they work and are very accurate. You can get the REVFSS from a late escort or orion.

have you got this on your car? silly question, but what do you actually need? do you need both parts to make it work?

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

I'm also interested in this - I need a speed sensor for my clocks and the one the manufacturer recommends is just short of £50 posted. Seems a
bit steep and wondered if anyone has any cheaper workable solutions?

I drive a VDO speedo, a type 9 box, standard sierra cable. I have cobbled the inductive sensor from a mondeo on top of the sierra cable. There's
a million dead mondeos with speedo senders to rob in the scrappys. The sender lives half-way up the speedo cable.

You need both pieces from Burton power and its not the cheapest solution. If you can find a escort/orion or as suggested a mondeo try it. This set up
is for electronic speedo.

Let me get this right, if i was for example to go with the Burton site i would need the adapter which should fit in my type 9 gearbox. This is then
connected up to the speedo sensor which fots onto this and is then connected to the wires from the speedo.
Do i need to do anything else to get the speedo working? magnets etc? or am i getting it all wrong?

Joe - I gave in and bought the sensor from Green Gauges last week. A lot of money but at least I can be guaranteed it'll work with my clocks!
